Welcome to Shelbyville
Poster for Welcome to Shelbyville, which screened on PBS’ Independent Lens. The film was premiered in Lagos, Nigeria by the US State Department as a part of cultural diplomacy program—a traveling film festival, which I think was pretty smart and cool of them. You can read about that in a Times article here. The events of the film spawned a national movement called Welcoming America, whose mission is to “promote mutual respect and cooperation between foreign-born and U.S.-born Americans.” That’s also my font Dubliners used for the main title.
